How V8 Supercar drivers can enhance their hydration

Motor racing is a sport requiring elite concentration, sustained physical endurance, lightning-fast reaction times and precise coordination. With temperatures in the cockpit which can reach up to 70C, drivers can experience staggering fluid loss of up to 3L per hour.

In a sport where the difference between winning and losing can be 1/100th of second, athletic and mental performance means everything. It is well established in sports science that dehydration can reduce athletic performance by up to 29% including having negative effects on reaction times, decision making and skill execution.

PREPD Ambassador, Todd Hazelwood is a V8 Supercars driver with BigMate Racing and shares how PREPD keeps him performing at his peak by boosting his hydration.

"With temperatures in a V8 Supercar reaching thirty degrees higher than ambient air temperature, hydration is a critical part of my race preparation. PREPD provides me with a hydration boost that helps me stay focused and keeps my reaction times sharp throughout the longest endurance races."
